Interesting Title?? :) No, Shane and I haven't reverted back to going to kindergarten.. but I did go with one of our newest families to an Islamic kindergarten or 'TK' last week as a way for the kids to get to meet some 'western' people and kids their age. :) This contact came from one of my awesome neighbors, Ibu Ning!
When we got there we were ushered into a waiting room to rest for a minute and have a drink.
We then went upstairs and were greeted by about 125 kids and teachers - singing us a welcome song in English. :)
Thomas and Laura introduced themselves and their kids. We say 'Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes' since there is also an Indonesian version and Laura read them a story.
We put in an alphabet movie for them to watch for about 15 minutes...
..and then went out to the playground so the kids could all play together.
Emma receiving a bracelet from one of the girls. :)
We didn't get away over the Christmas holidays, but we did get away this past weekend! :)
We headed to Mt. Lawu to check it out for maybe a future bike/weekend away but didn't actually find what we were looking for. Nonetheless it was a nice ride and fun to be enjoying Indonesia's country side. :)
After Mt. Lawu we headed for a hotel and a city we don't get to often. We enjoyed traveling around following our map (looks VERY beat up now! :)) and checking out places.
Some old pots from China.....
We enjoyed the museum. It was quite big and it must have taken us 2 hours. I couldn't pass up a picture of the dust. Dusting is just not something you do much of here - at least not in a museum. Things are so open and get dusty too quickly. I think most Indonesians don't even bother really.
A market known for selling 'batik.' ... never been there.... not yet. :)
For lunch we enjoyed A&W. I ordered an interesting menu item... Chicken Mango Pocket... :)
Our lunch came to $7.00.
Supper we enjoyed 'Martabak.' I've talked about it before but don't remember if I have put pictures up. :)
We enjoyed a bit of the hotel and of course we needed to check e-mail. :)
