Little Blessings

Life had been a bit busy this week, more than normal. :) We are finishing up the week with double company and I needed to get the 'house' cleaned a bit. I also have had a headache, feeling tired, and needing to do many other things this afternoon. I was visited by these two young ladies from on camp here. There were looking for a bit of work, so after a pause (I'm so used to doing everything myself.....) I told them that I had some work just for them! They swept and did a bit of vaccuming for me, as well as shook out my three rugs. Yeah! We enjoyed our drinks and chat before they headed off again.

Ladies Day Out

We had a great time this afternoon/evening as training staff & student ladies! There was a lot of work that I did before hand as I was in charge of the organizing the cars, maps, walkie-talkies, informative e-mails, etc.... (I'm SOOO ready for bed, but want to blog these first.)

We played Glow In The Dark - Putt Putt golf. That was fun! We were all (33 of us...) divided into groups of 4 or 5. My group had 5 and there is a picture of us and some of that time.

On the way to the mall, we HAD to stop by the Starbuck that was kind of on the way.... : ) Yeah!! We had quite a few Starbucks lovers aboard! (This is Sarah & I - My co-pilot, Liz from Kentucky, had Mapquested it ahead of time when she knew we were heading to Barrie; now that is loyalty! :) ) I had a Java Chip, and was it ever good! I think I'll have one of those again some time... There aren't many Starbucks in Canada though, so not sure when I will get one again.

After shopping we headed for the restaurant where we ate supper. Mmmmm Here is a pic. of my table.

We are all home safe, and sound - 6 car/vans full. Whew! : ) It was a lot of fun.

THE BLACK HOLE

We are really enjoying our coffee house on Tuesday nights! This week we still had the Dutch game, schul, at least I think that is how you spell it.. We enjoyed playing it on Friday night at the Fall Festival as one of the booths, but then Debeors allowed us to bring it home and play it some more! : ) So last night we took our turns playing it. Peter got a score of 62!! That was amazing! Here are two pics from that night.

Phil & Janessa are finally married! It has been an amazing road this past year+ for Phil as he has battled kidney failure, and a kidney transplant. He and Janessa looked like they really were enjoying themselves, and it turned out to be a very nice day! Here are a few pics.....

October 12th - Our first snow....

At lunch time, Shane and I took a family shot down on the bright yellow leaves at the foot of the hill. : ) JUST IN TIME! About three hours later, it began to snow!

Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend

Well, for part of this weekend we had M&D Whatley here. The other half has been visiting with the Bott family for a Thanksgiving meal after church, and then once home, heading to Vern & Holly's place for another Thanksgiving dinner! : ) We sympathize with that stuffed turkey! : ) Today slept in and are now busy with the order of the day... I think we will be getting a game of soccer going this evening. Yeah!

Mom & Dad W's visit

Dad arrived back on this side of the world safely, and after a visit with Alan & Rachel, and Steve & Carolyn, they were here for a day and a half before doing the 'red-eye' trip to Thunder Bay. We had a really nice relaxing time with them, not really doing a whole lot. That was something they really enjoyed. It wasn't without work though! : ) We found dad a great piece of wood, and Shane and him squared it up and sanded it before working it into their little VW. : )

Fall Pictures

It has been a weird fall this year. A bit to warm, lots of rain, and we are just now really getting the frosty mornings to bring out the strong colors/colours of the trees. I have been too busy this week to get some great shots, however, this morning with the beautiful blue sky and the bright sunshine, I ran outside for a few shots. :)

Ladies Tea

The 1st Friday of every month, us 2nd Year staff ladies have a "Ladies Tea Time" in which us staff ladies take turns having the tea time. We share what the Lord has been teaching us, as well as have some goodies, and coffee or tea.

I shared what God taught me this past weekend at the conference in Toronto. We also had three different teas to choose from, the ladies got to choose their own tea cup from my slowly growing collection, and coffee cake. It is a great time to share with one another, as ladies, and to encourage one another as we share what we have been learning or our struggles. I'm thankfull for the ladies that God has brought onto my path this year. : )

Just Give Me Jesus - Conference

Well, a while ago, I was asked to join a fellow trainer in participating at the JGMJ conference being held in Toronto this past weekend. I've never gone to anything like this, so didn't know what to expect, but hey, it is something that could be a great encouragement, a fun bonding time with Kathy, and a time away. (Not that I feel like I want to get away....) :) Anyway, a fellow church friend, Kathy, and myself headed down to Toronto Friday afternoon. We were going to stay with Kathy's husband's sister and husband. Gert was going to the conference too, with a group of about 30 ladies from the church she attends; we were just being added to their group. : )

The speaker was Anne Graham Lotz, and Jill Briscoe. Fernando Ortega and a band led us in worship. (Really great!) The conference was a great reminder of what Christ did for us on the cross. Anne did one of the best gospel presentations I have ever heard Friday night. She put the 4 gospels together as she re-told the story of Jesus's ministry, choosing of the disciples, and death. Jill spoke on prayer, finishing up with a story and a time of prayer for missionaries around the world. The main emphasis was taking our trials, looking at them as Jesus would - a means for the end, and trust the Lord with what He has for you through that trial. Trusting Him to finish the work that He has began in us, through that trial. It was super.
