We had been waiting to find out when we needed to go and finally got the word on Sunday the 7th that we could go that coming week. We were getting home from another trip the next day - Monday and would be leaving on Wednesday for Sulawesi.
This isn't just about us going to Sulawesi, but also about a friend of ours, Julie, who was also visiting Indonesia and heading to Sulawesi before swinging by our place for a few days to then head out of the country. There were a few complications, but as it turned out we would be heading to Sulawesi on the same flight from Jakarta... well, that was before Mt. Merapi, our neighboring volcano, decided to be active. Julie's flight was canceled from Hong Kong and our flight took off without us as the plane was late getting to Jakarta. We both arrived Thursday and I had the privilege of picking Julie up at the airport though we didn't even live there. :)
The next morning we flew into the place where Shane grew up. We got to fly in with Julie on her trip, help out with a water project, and get to see our brothers and sisters in Christ again! It was amazing. All of it... and here are the pics. :)
